| My passion is to create one of a kind silk scarves of beauty; whose abstract designs appear to ripple and pulsate, shifting as light diffuses across their surface.
I draw my inspiration from the natural world around me – up close from the brilliance of flowers to sky sunrises and sunsets and beyond to pictures of the galaxies taken from the Hubble telescope. This is my concentration at this point in time with my Galaxy Series. The Shibori Series add the dimension of texture with the abstract designs. These designs lend themselves to scarves where the object is to have a chameleon like color accent to your clothing and to invigorate the spirit of the wearer. My Procion Fiber Re-Active dyes are brush painted onto the silk and allowed to blend and flow releasing the creation already hidden in my materials. |
